Why are you running for the MVUSD Board of Trustees in Area 1?

After more than three decades in classrooms and career technical education, I have seen what helps students thrive and what quietly holds them back. I am running to bring that classroom-level knowledge to the boardroom so decisions start with students, not with politics.

What experience do you bring to the board?

A career as a teacher and CTE program leader: building pathways with industry partners, mentoring students into careers and college, managing programs and budgets, and working shoulder to shoulder with families, counselors, and administrators.

What are your top priorities?

My five pillars: students first, parents as partners, empowered teachers, accountable leadership, and strong community partnerships. Every vote I cast will be measured against those five.

How will you support teachers and school staff?

By protecting instructional time, funding real classroom resources and training, keeping class sizes manageable, and asking teachers what they need before decisions are made rather than after.

How will parents be included in decisions?

Parents deserve clear information and a genuine voice. I will push for plain-language communication, meaningful notice before major decisions, and regular listening sessions in person and on Zoom.

Where do you stand on district budgets and transparency?

Dollars should follow students into classrooms. I support readable budget summaries, published outcomes for major programs, and honest reporting when something is not working.

Career Technical Education is where passion finds purpose. I will defend and expand pathways that connect students to real careers, certifications, internships, and college credit before they graduate.
